For the last twelve years, I have been making a series of innovative portraits of an international set of artists, writers, poets, performers, and patrons working, living and loving at the advent of Modernism; a visual compendium of women whose historical importance, influence and mastery is often undervalued or overlooked. My ongoing series entitled, "Left Bank Women," are large works on paper with watercolor, colored pencil, cut paper and collaged elements.

Beginning with a premise that relationships with others provide fuel for lives well-lived and work well done, each of my artworks highlights an important personal relationship in the life of the subject. Every artwork begins with a good bit of research into their lives, work and milieu. I am at once, artist, historian, feminist activist, and educator.
